31 Days of Date Nights {Day 12} Arcade

Welcome to 31 Days of Date Nights. My plan is to give you a simple date night idea, (mostly frugal ones) every day for the month of October.   You can access all posts in this series here.

We don’t own an Xbox or Nintendo or any  other game system.  But, if you do, you could schedule a date night at home and make use of what you already have.

We recently went to the movie theater (a rare occasion for us) and we arrived earlier than expected.  To kill time, we made our way over to the arcade.  We had never played any arcade type games together so it was something new for us.

DH played a hunting type game first.  But he accidentally clicked right through the instructions, so he didn’t realize that each round he was only supposed to shoot certain things!

I’ve always wanted to play one of those dance games.  And here was my big chance.  But, I failed miserably!  I thought the screen would show a box like the one I was standing on and that it would be very clear and obvious where I was supposed to step.  Instead, random arrows appeared on the screen and I had no idea what I was supposed to do.  DH tried to help me, but it just made no sense to me!

Another couple had been playing air hockey and left the puck on the table.  So we played, but without the air!  It was an extra challenge without the air to make the puck glide smoothly along the table.   DH scored a few times and then the puck disappeared.

I can’t even remember now what other games we played. But we spent $2 total, so it wasn’t an expensive way to pass the time.

Now if they had had Skeeball there, a lot more money would have been spent!

What is your favorite arcade game?

  1. Thanks for your suggestions. In these days of economic challenge, it helps to look around and see all the possibilities available to us. There are lots if we only have eyes to see them. Lori
