Welcome to 31 Days of Date Nights. My plan is to give you a simple date night idea, (mostly frugal ones) every day for the month of October. You can access all posts in this series here.
A few months back, I saw in our church bulletin that a couple from our church was going to be hosting a recital. The husband plays the piano and the wife plays the violin. We weren’t sure if they would actually be performing or if it would be students of theirs that would be playing.
We were elated to find that the couple themselves, as well as their adult daughter and a friend of theirs, were the ones performing. (Not that I wouldn’t have loved seeing kids play just as much). It was fantastic! The concert was held at the couples home and about 20 people showed up. They had refreshments afterwards, too.
If you are wondering how a couple at my church hosting a free concert applies to you (who most likely is in a different state than I am)… Here it is. You can find out about free concerts in your area from newspapers, posters at the local coffee shop, grocery store bulletin boards, friends, neighbors, coworkers, your church, bloggers in your area etc.
In the summer months in our city, there are several free outdoor concerts to choose from every week. Now that summer is over, you’ll just need to keep your eyes open for indoor concerts.
